Sexy Shoe Sunday: Snowboarding Boots

(Boot and bindings via my Instagram)

(L-R: 32 Boa boot; Madison Rome binding, heel (top) buckle (bottom))
(L-R:Boot and binding; boot lacing detail)
Yes, I'm talking snowboarding boots today. I've not done a Sexy Shoe Sunday post in a while because quite honestly, I've not had anything super fabulous to scream about. I've bought a few amazing pairs, but nothing I've worn yet to show you how excited I am. Wait, now I'm lying... as I type, I'm looking at one of my shoe shelves and see 3 boxes of recent purchases... some Rachel Zoes, Brian Atwoods, and L.A.M.B.s... Oh yes, those are fabulous, but I've not taken a few minutes to share. Wait for it, though. The next four Sundays will be delicious!

For now, let's address these right here. Not a "shoe" I'd ever share as part of this SSS series but everything about them is so right, I had to. So, I'm going snowboarding for the first time in 9 or 10 years this coming weekend. Before I moved to Atlanta, my siblings and I would go often enough where I had some appropriate gear... you know, the basics and essentials -- except for the board and my own boots.

Three of my four siblings started taking annual snowboarding trips and the recounts have always left me jelly. Now that I'm back in D.C. and near them, I'm back! I bought an advantage pass to Ski Liberty Mountain last year but never got to use it. But in the spirit of the Olympics and the already planned annual sibling trip, I decided to join them. How could I not?!

After hitting the gym today, sis and I went boot shopping, only anticipating sizing me so that one of my brothers could let me borrow his wife's set up -- she's got a few boards and bindings.

Sizing turned into intrigue, into inquiry, into modeling, into debating, into checking out. With these.

After much mix and match with boots and bindings -- all in search of the perfect black and yellow combination -- I put these two together. And, oh joy am I happy!

And for the first time, I was able to engage my sister in helping me make a fashionable decision. But I also alerted her that snowboarding can and should be sexy. Hence these bad, just bad black and gold bindings with the chicest brushed gold hardware. They are screaming. They are just so right. So sexy.

I figured since it's my first time out on powder in almost a decade, I might as well fall in style... because you already know that's going to happen!

I'll be sharing all kinds of pictures and videos via Instagram from Jackson Hole. It will be epic. I hope you follow along. Anything to stay fit while resurfacing old sills and I'm in.

But really, tho, aren't these sexy?? ;)

Sexy Shoe Sunday: Valentino

Happy Sunday, lovelies. Did you miss Sexy Shoe Sunday? I did too, actually, but I try to only feature shoes I actually buy, though I'm thinking I should just share anything uber fabulous. And, I've been on a break from buying shoes because nothing's really tickled my fancy. Until now. Well, I did pick up some super fabulous black pumps and a pair of strappy shoes for this TV appearance a few weeks ago. I need to show you those. But for now.... These!

I try not to obsess over material things. But sometimes a girl's just gotta cave into the crush and follow her heart's content.

I saw these a while back, loved them, but knew they were too trendy for my taste. Haven't studs been in for 5 years? And won't they only last for maybe 2 more? That's why I looked (and drooled), tried them on, and walked out empty-handed, feeling great.

But then I got a call I've been waiting on for years and the shoes came to mind. I fought that frugal, practical side and pondered them again.

It took all of two days to decide on them. I deserved them. This was the one case (and hopefully the last) where timeless style didn't matter. I just went for it.

And, I'm so glad I did. I'm in love. I haven't crushed on a pair of shoes like this in a long time. Especially trendy shoes.

These beauties are sexy, screaming my name and just classy. I just pray these studs don't become passé anytime soon. And even if they do, I'll be rocking them 'til I'm well in my 60s! The lovely and over-the-top friends at Nordstrom assured me I'd be fine. Plus they went overboard in finding them for me.... because, this color in my size was sold out.

Enjoy.

Sexy Shoe Sunday: LAMB 'Jazmyn'

Lusting over these ultra sexy L.A.M.B 'Jazmyn' pumps I bought at Nordstrom Rack to wear with a flowy off-the-shoulder dress with accordian pleated skirt. I bought them to wear to a flamenco show in Spain during the wedding I mentioned in my last post, but I went all casual and rocked jeans instead.

I've shied away from very scantily designed heels, you know the ones with super little snug and support and very open, but these match everything I could wear this summer and fall. Plus, a black and white pump pretty much goes with everything.  Let's not even talk about the attractive supple perforated leader heel covering juxtaposed against a curvaceous patent heel. The are particularly easy to dress up or down. Loving the idea of a skinny jean, too.

I love them. Debating returning them b/c I was only able to find a 7.5 and I'm a solid 8. I fit them well but wondering if the 1/2 size will eventually catch up to me.

What do you think? Yay or Nay?

I mean, they are pretty sexy. 6" and classy.

This is my Sexy Shoe Sunday. I hope to tell you later this week I either found an 8 or crammed into a 7.5 which I'll pay for later! Ha.

Sexy Shoe Sunday: Casadei

I had to have these. Just had to. Plus, it was my birthday gift to self. An annual tradition of treating myself to something totally unnecessary. Just because. And these were it. The color. The texture. The heel. The design. The price.

Dope deal.

And they're mine. Perfect for fall. Forever.

Happy Sunday!

Sexy Shoe Sunday: Zara's Navy & Black Cut-Out

Love, love these. The colors combo, something's that's taken me some time to wrap my style mind around. But the cutout and lace is something I'm attracted to and can't enough of. Remember these lovely L.A.M.B's I wore for NY's Fashion Week in Fall 2012? Those are 4 years old but I find them so timeless and just won't part. They're chocolate and go with just about everything. And of course, they're sexy.

L.A.M.B
These new stilettos from Zara are calling my name. I've tried them on twice but am on the fence for some reason. Only because I'm trying to break the habit of having more than two similarly styled shoes, unless of course they're Louboutin, in which case, even four shoes of the same style would be just fine.

What do you think of these? Yay or nay?

Sexy Shoe Sunday: The Perfect White Pump

I was supposed to be married at 24. That was my dream age. I had everything planned out. A huge Cinderella style gown, a tiara, 300 guests, sparkly shoes and hand-picked flowers.

So much of my dream has changed. Now, it's more like a Grecian-style or Vera Wang gown (or a couture Carolina Herrera), a fabulous fascinator, my mom's jewelry and some bad ass pumps [maybe 150 people]

In anticipation of being married in the last 5 years, I bought some amazing Narciso Rodriguez white satin pumps. I neatly kept them stored in their dust bag and box for 3 years until I realized that man had still not come. Since then, I've rocked the hotness out of them and are one of my faves.

And then Charlotte Olympia came along, made her debut and and took the shoe industry by lustful storm. Her Fall '11 line is sick and one to seriously covet. There's not one shoe I don't like. But, of all the pumps, I particularly love this Paloma stain pump. Though the green one speaks unparalleled sexiness to me, these white ones are breathtakingly heavenly. Perfect for a bride.

Even if I were to get married within the year, these would be in top contention. Wouldn't you say!

Sexy Shoe Sunday: Brian Atwood 'Fontanne'

Oh, please forgive the sock imprint on my legs!
Green reflection of grass on heel is just that.
Sexiest heel ever.

Is this not the perfect brown pump? Ever? The color. The supple leather. And to make it all sexier... the gold leaf crackled, bamboo-embossed heel. I mean, hello! Baddest heel I've owned. Oh yes, and they're 6".

A girlfriend and I were just comparing our older heels, of 3" (hec, even 4) -- which at the time seemed so perfectly high -- to our 5 and 6" option these days. We wondered if we'll ever reduce ourselves to such low levels of height. After all, walking in towering shoes is so tragic for our backs. And hips. And posture. And spine. No matter their sexy and appropriateness for the times we live in, they're just not the healthiest fashion decision.

But for now, we'll just relish in all their fabulousness and deal with those ramifications when the time comes. Though, admittedly, I've started storing those 2-4" heels for my more wise years, as surely I won't sustain a 2 hour dinner without secretly kicking my shoes off under the table, otherwise.

These are my most delicious new acquisition even though it's been two months since. But I finally wore them a few weeks ago and they simply kicked butt.

Wearing heels should always be this sexy.

Sexy Shoe Sunday: Nike Air Pegasus {And Being a Kid Again}

(NIKE Air Pegasus +29 via my Instagram)

(At the playground, swinging high! via my Instagram)

Hey, hey! Happy Sunday. I'm in an incredibly happy place today. Could be the amazing crisp air we're enjoying in D.C. Or, it could be that Obama just took oath in a private ceremony and the public inauguration tomorrow promises to be schlock-full of delayed advancements in our culture and tolerance.

Or, really, that I had a beautiful childish moment yesterday. And can't wait to have it again.

I took my niece and nephew to a park I grew up  playing; the one where I kissed my first boyfriend. The see-saw is gone, but the swings remain and suddenly I had this urge to get on and see if my enthusiasm was still the same.

And it was! I hopped on and swung for 20 minutes, reaching heights that left the kiddies totally fascinated. I jumped off from about 10 feet and carefully positioned myself to land without suffering an injury.

Success.

I'd normally post an awesome stiletto or bootie today -- actually had my shoe wardrobe from a trip to NY this week prepared to share -- but the equal excitement of having some NEW runnings shoes after 10 years, was worth the hold.

I tell no lie when I say that these are my 1st running shoes in one decade. Sadly, my old kicks would still be around but not for an avid running friend from my innocent childhood who forced me to throw them out. That was 4 weeks ago. Since then, I've been maintaining my fitness level up with some NIKE Free's I got at a media event back in Oct. I chatted about it here.

So, when I was pleasantly surprised with these super pretty blue and purple Air Pegasus + 29, I couldn't wait to shove my feet in them. Imagine the odd feeling in cushy, properly designed sneakers! My feet became accustomed to raggedy, full of holes and beat up shoes. At the end, all I did was cause injury to my knees and lower back.

Wearing these was heavenly. Way heavenly. I ran 5 laps at the park to start the process of breaking them in. I like that I wear 1/2 size smaller in NIKE's and that it takes little time for adjustment. Their about 80% lighter than the pair I remember owning in HS (those were purple, too, ironically).

I never thought I'd utter these words, but it's so, so, so, nice having sneakers I can run in without pounding the pavement, wear to Zumba and go back to the park to swing.

Even the girliest girl in the baddest pump needs to own a few pair of proper running shoes. Oh, but yes, they have to be cute.

And these are!

Sexy Shoe Sunday: Green Oxs

You know I don't wear flats all like that, right? It's not because I'm only 5'1" and feel the need to be taller... no, not at all. At my core, I am a heel. It's natural and I just can't imagine being one of those girls that can't handle all day.  I love a sexy 6" heel in any color, skinny, wedge or platform anytime of day. Barring the necessary running shoe, rain boot or flip flops, there are the rarest of moments when I find an irresistible flat which leaves me second-guessing my tastes and loyalty to the fabulous heel.

I had such a moment a few weeks ago at Nordstrom Rack. I was there looking for some Hunter's when I accidentally came across the most beautiful oxford I've ever laid my eyes on. I literally dropped everything I had in my hands and grabbed the tattered box. I tried them on, walked around, Instagrammed a pic to gauge opinion, and decided they were meant to be. But I'm not a compulsive buyer so I ran to customer service and put them on hold.  They were perfect in every way, even having a green sole, but I had to make sure I was okay dropping $130 on a boldly colored FLAT!

I went back and snatched them. And now they're mine. All mine.

I'm thinking they'll make their way with me on my next international hop... to the Virgin Islands. The perfect excuse to give the stilettos a break.

These lovelies are by Cole Haan, my first ever.

Do you love?
