{Beauty Bloom} Creamiest & Most Luxe Lip Balms

After 5 wintry days in Jackson, WY two weeks ago, I was  quickly reminded of how damaging cold, dry temperatures can be to our everything: skin, hair, and lips. The lack of moisture, or whatever little there is canceled out by the bitter cold, causes all kinds of cracklings that are just not cute. Hair becomes brittle, skin is ashy (the most unsexy thing ever), and chapped lips (actually, this is the most unsexy). It's just not a good look on anyone!

Though Spring's around the corner, our lips still need some love and conditioning. Always. Among my mild obsessions of certain things, luscious lip balms top my 10. The only thing is that they get lost like the single sock phenomena. Surely, there's a balmy island with millions of sticks, tubes, pots, and anything else containing balms. I'd so love to know where that is. I'd find at least 200 of mine there.

But back to my lip balms. After finally parting with my cocoa butter tub which I keep at hands reach, I started looking for the best balms to keep my lips yummy. I found not only the best ones with moisture locking properties, but the packaging on some of these are just too sexy. Because tho I love the vintage vibe of Carmex, there's just something more fun about pulling out a cute tube.

These here are full of shea butter, Vitamin E (essential for so many things), coconut oil, and beeswax, the main things I look for when choosing the best ones.

Les Couvent des Minimes

This is quickly becoming my new favorite beauty brand for lux prods. I mean, they're made in France, after all. If you know me, you know I love anything and just about anything coming from there. More on that later. But, everything I've tried from their collection, though not much, is just amazing. Pure lush. Their Baume du Sourier ('Smile' lip balm) is creamy and smooth without sticking which is about the worst thing a lip balm could do. The best part of these, other than the three flavors (mint, pear, and orange blossom) is their main ingredient: marshmallow extract! Hello! It's what creates that fabulous creaminess. Go get you some!

Their honey aroma smile lip balm pot is even better. This little cute jar is full of honey extract to soften the lips and royal jelly to repair the damage. It simply does the job. But don't travel with this one. It's a bit too pricey to lose to the island of the chap sticks!

Skinceuticals Antioxidant Lip Repair. You really need this in your life if you spend a lot of time outdoors, doing any kind of activity for extended periods of time. Summer heat also impacts our skin so something with ultra repairing properties is key.  Vermillion helps with reducing wrinkling on aging lips. I'm not there yet, thank God, but hey, we all be eventually. Some preventative measure never hurt anyone. The tube is sexy, too. Grown girl kind of sexy. Sleek in silver with a pump dispenser.

Nyakio Hydrating Lip Balm. This one stays in my pocket no matter where I go. It's not your typical lip balm. It's more like a tube of sensuous cream for your lips. Nyakio's approach of using ingredients indigenous to Africa is key to their awesomeness. Kenyan coffee, kola nut, and marula (a miracle oil -- not yet tried tho) are key elements in their products. This lip balm is mainly made up of honey and kola nut, offering a super high level of hydration.

NOYA. This is the perfect stick to get lost in the abyss but it's worth the ha ving. I love this 4-flavor set because it's all natural and kosher. It only uses 4-6 ingredients including coconut and olive oil, two of my fave for a lot of beauty remedies. I've kept kept the original flavor one on me for the last three months without losing. I'm careful about not losing the real good, good stuff. Try the vanilla one. It's quite tasty in case you're wondering.

L'Occitane Shea Butter Stick. I don't have much to say about this one other than I'm sure it's perfect. It's the only one I've not actually tried, but since L'Occitane never fails, I'm certain it's everything you need. Covers the basics and more. The 10% shea butter is seemingly enough to create super soft and healthy lips. If only they'd make a lavender one!

There are so many others in the market I actually want to to try, but these are the ones I've been swearing by all winter. They work, really.

So, what are your fave lip balms?!

I heard of that French brand a few months ago and fell in love with it too! It's so luscious and readily does what I need it to. but Loccitane is still one of favorite products. Need to try that kola nut one. Never heard of it. And I love EOS too!
