Life these days is a whirl wind of everything. The only thing I'm trying to focus on is some serious R & R where I literally shut down and take care of myself. That entails the requisite mani/pedi (because looking cute is appropriate no matter what), a yoga class or two, a hammock nap (love doing that in the spring and summer), a massage, and some serious curling up with my magazines and books collecting dust.

Yeah, that's all wishful thinking, though I've actually been able to squeeze the massage in... and it was so perfect, it made up for one more on that fanciful list.

I've been traveling for almost 2 months non-stop now and my body is taking a beating. Seriously! I've caught more flights in the last 6 weeks than all off last year. It's all so awesome, but there comes a breaking point, right. And just when I think I get to sit still for a moment, I accept to host a super chic, mid-day tryst for some fabulous girlfriends.

My lovely friends over at LBC invited me to host a Twitter fiesta, featuring Jergens' new crema collection... I got to invite some DC-area lifestyle bloggers that would appreciate the luxe qualities of a household name brand -- at least en mi casa -- to an afternoon of all things white and lush. As things would go for me, I invited the girls over the very day I got back from 9 days of travel. I'm not sure what I was thinking, but I had all of 3 hours from getting off my Atlanta/DC flight,  to get home, set up, cook some fun treats, make drinks and open my doors to the girls.

Perhaps because I knew the afternoon was going to be full of hand massages and some smell good scents in the crema jars, I hurried and made it happen with pure adrenaline. Plus, if you didn't know, entertaining is what I do. And if under pressure, it's more than likely going to be even better!

Nothing like having 6 excited girls over for a mid-afternoon break to indulge in ourselves. Swag bags for all the girls held each of the new whips -- Soothing Aloe, Coconut Milk and Deep Conditioning Oatmeal -- and a cute cookie from a NY baker, laced the table. I even had the Aloe one in the girls' room for lathering after using the toilette.

While we tried each one and talked about what we look for in moisturizing our bodies, we noshed on DIY nacho haystacks and a sparkling fresh eau de coco with strawberries to pair. Cucumber bites with apple smoked turkey, Jarlsberg and dill were pretty accompaniments. All that was lovely, but the jovial consensus was that the roasted coconut flan I had just baked that morning, was the hit. Café con leche for some, tea for others and we were all satisfied. I intentionally made a coconut flavored dessert to pair with the coconut milk crema. Having just been in the Caribbean for 6 days, anything island-y was appealing and mentally took me back there.

I guess you wouldn't be surprised of the three cremes, coconut milk was the preferred one! It's lighter  than the other two, but has real notes of coconut and leaves your skin feeling silky smooth. We all know aloe vera is fantastic for soothing burns, cuts, etc.. so it's just right to use this one to alleviate dry skin. Oatmeal-enriched cremes are wonderful for exfoliating and brightening up dull areas, so Jergens' deep-conditioning variety is the one you want to go for if you're working on replenishing super dry skin that needs some extra TLC!

Our 2 hour tea-coffee break turned into a fun and super talkative 3 hours of intimate exchange of personal experiences in our beauty regimen. My new local Latina blogger friend, Maria of Very Busy Mama even brought her newborn, who didn't squeal a single time! So tickled she got to enjoy some down time just for her. It's what I set out to do!

My awesome guests left feeling renewed, refreshed, and perfectly full, ready to go back to work. Or not! I sent them off with some new goodies and I took the rest of the day off!

Now it's your turn! Wouldn't you love to try the new rejuvenate collection and treat your skin to luscious sensations?!

I need that coconut milk crema! I already use coconut oil on my skin and my hair, plus I have coconut conditioner and coconut body wash. It just makes sense!

You need to host more of those! I couldn't make it but my friend told me about it. Said she had a great time. And hand massages with cocktails? Yes, please!
