My friend's over at Being Latino are celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with a month-long series of video's that highlight the works of some trailblazing Latinos! For the next 4 weeks, I'll be helping spread the love with a new video every day on each of these 20 trailblazers, so check in every morning for a look at new video. 9 am, every day. Be inspired!
Today: Ana Maria Martinez, a Grammy-award winning soprano Opera singer. She's of particular insterest to me as a classically trained vocalist, having studied with another Diva Opera singer, Virginia Alonso -- another Latina woman -- and studied cello since the age of 7. I love to celebrate women in the arts, especially non-pop genres of music.
Watch the video and see how she's a trailblazer!
