Girl in a Blue Dress

I can't tell you how much I love this dress. When I found it 8 years ago, it was one of those "love me now"  moments that visually took me to a scene in Breakfast at Tiffany's and even The Sound of Music. Does clothes do that to you?

I've always been fascinated with vintage pieces, especially ones that have a story. And though I don't know the history behind this one, I found it intriguing and very soulful. Perhaps it was the bold pattern or the hidden blue tulle underneath the skirt. Better yet, the subtle, yet sexy open back with an unassuming but lovely blow.

On an excruciatingly hot day, a friend I went out for cupcakes in cutesy town square, where I frolicked among the flowers and played in the old stationary train.

It was a perfect day for a perfect dress -- that needs alterations on the shoulders! If only I would have known the straps were falling off.... I'd say the back shot was pretty inviting!

Thrifted dress; LAMB shoes; Moschino sunglasses; C.B. Herrera earrings; vintage lucite and cinnabar cuffs; Anne Klein watch; vintage and Banana Republic rings; Swarovski hair pin; vintage clutch.

That dress looks perfect on you, it was obviously made for you!! It is a shame that you don't know the history behind the dress. I have just got an internship with a company called Maggie Semple Ltd and they specialise in just this. If you have a treasured garment and want to know about it's past you can contact them and they can find out for you. It is amazing what they can do. If you are interested just drop me a comment on my blog and I can put you in touch.

That is a beautiful dress! And you look stunning! :)

And to answer your question, YES!!! Certain pieces of clothing evoke certain feelings, thoughts and memories. I think you captured all of them in these photos. :)

So refreshing! I love all of the pics, maybe I should have been on site to help out with that alteration of the shoulders but that fashion faux-pa turned out to be a hit!

You shared this yesterday and loved it just as much today! Beautiful color, sexy back and adore your accessories, especially the red straps on the watch. And the off the shoulder works though it was by accident!

Thanks fabulous ladies! Was lots of fun shooting though it was over 100F that day! Sigh. When I get the shoulders taken in, I'll do a completely different shoot! A whole new look! ;) Glad you all love the dress and accessories!
